Default Duo of Destruction

Whatup gang!

As you all know, I'm brand new to the server!

I wanted to take a minute of your day to get your expert input on where to hunt for the two classes and location we're in, as a poor newbie! Not a decked out buffed, PL toon.

So, we're pretty much naked in gear:

Halfling Druid - level 5, hunting in Misty Thicket.

Dark Elf Necromancer - level 8, hunting in Nektulos

We'd like to eventually group up, but would that destroy our experience? or maybe we can be more efficient with pulls at certain camps.

We'll also need an area where his Dark Elf could maybe hunt with ease of no guards around. Maybe a quick run to corpse?

Here's my thoughts - Stay in Misty Thicket till level 10 as my druid, since it's an amazing zone, no?

Once level 10, head to NRO with my buddy and kill caimens till level 60?

We'd need a form of income, too. or gear? sheesh this is hard.

Thanks in advance all.

Grouping up in the East and then West Commonlands will get you great experience. And it may nullify the pet penalty (if the pet does more damage than the necromancer, he will steal half the exp of the kill). There is also a slight experience bonus on each additional player you add to the group. You have another source of income also with bronze weapons and Greater Lightstones from wisps.

Hi and welcome.

As long as your pet deals less than 50% dmg your group won't experience the xp penalty. You shouldn't have any issue outdamaging the pet with the two of you.

As for leveling up ... it's a matter of taste. One could always sell / buy for the other anyway. Go to wherever it seems to the most fun to you both below level 20, as you'll end up in the hot zones soon enough.

P.S: send me a tell ingame for a quick buff / port.

Wisps in North Karana are good, because there's lots of them and you can turn the Greater Light Stones in for exp as well as a book that you can sell right back to the same gypsy for 9 or so pp. Otherwise the two bandit camps in LFay are good, but the Sisters there is frequently camped. The other bandit camp there also drops bronze, but I think brownies path by it (might be mistaken on that though, been a while since I sat there).

Neither of those are particularly gear-dependent classes, so don't even worry about that for the first 20 or 30 levels. Druid and Necro makes a great duo, particularly outdoors, but you can root-rot stuff pretty well in dungeons later on, too.

I think you guys would have good luck doing some of the outdoor undead camps scattered around the world, especially once the Necro hits level 12 (since Spook the Dead is much more efficient than regular Fear). Druid casts harmony and pulls with snare, Necro fears it and sends pet. Add dots as necessary and let simmer. There are some in the Karanas with more mobs than the two of you will know what to do with, making for endless pulls.
