The thread in the Technical Forum on Duax's installer contains a post that someone had similar trouble as you are having with "EQ cannot be found". This was how it was answered:

If it gives you that error that means that you are not pointing it in the right directory. Make sure you are pointing it in the same directory where the game files are. Make sure that the game is not installed inside of a folder in a folder... for example C:\Everquest\Everquest

if so then you have to point it to that second folder.

PS - just to clarify, you need to have EverQuest Titanium edition installed. This will not install the actual game for you.

Im pretty sure you just need to make a new shortcut for EQ pointing to the right directory. This happened to me before and that fixed it.

Some issues i had was folder premissons. make sure the security in the whole folder lets system and your user have full control. if you installed eq in a different folder make sure you re direct the installer(some option) alsoi had to download a .net addforthe installer. Checking did you have to get daemon tools to install?
If you get that far?

I didn't need daemon tools. It's under Computer, C drive or main hard drive, program files x86 (depends on your pc obviously), Sony, Everyquest.
I'm using Windows 7 on a multicore AMD Acer PC. Sometimes reinstalling Titanium works. Make sure you have not tried to connect to EQ Live from that spot because that will mess it completely up.
