Default Starting Fresh! HE/Rogue!

Hello all, my name is Steron and I just rolled a Half Elf Rogue. So far its been...interesting to say the least. Anyways, Im having trouble lvling up and finding groups, I started in Qeynos. Something tells me I should reroll and start in freeport, the population seems dead where im at. Im only lvl 3 so far, what do you guys think? Also, is there any lvling groups recruiting? I love a guild with a community...Anyways, happy hunting and see you all ingame! [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Qeynos isn't that bad a place to start. All the newb zones are kinda dead at the moment, depending on time of day and day of week with the low pop. I rolled a couple alts in Greater Faydark and had the same issues finding groups. Even East Commons can be tough for low-level groups. The gnoll fangs in Qeynos area are pretty solid exp from what I hear though, so it might be worth sticking it out there until 10 or so before moving to someplace like NRo or Oasis for groups.

As far as leveling groups, Full Circle is a leveling guild that has a pretty solid player base from what I've seen, so you may want to look into that in their guild forum.

Welcome to the server!

Sadly you are joining the server at the lowest I have seen the population in the 1.5 years I have been here. As a fellow rogue I appreciate your choice but know the road is not easy as the most group dependent class in the game with a low population. I do not think you need to reroll. Qeynos area has its advantages, particularly black burrow and the gill fang quest, however Freeport area big plus is that even when you can't find a partner you can usually find a buff or two that will enable you to solo.

My advice as a rogue is be aggressive in starting groups not passive. Use "/who all x y" to find people in your level range and don't be afraid to ask people w/o lfg tags. Worst that can happen is they say no thanks. Rogues duo well with kiter types who often solo but they are often willin to take a partner if you ask

Gnoll fang quest is important because it means you can effectively level to 12/13 or so fighting greens and light blues. That counts for a lot as a non-healing class with bad gear.

The low population of late might not be too much of an issue for a rogue. While a rogue can't solo effectively, it makes for a fine partner for a druid, and we have lots of druids (relatively) on P1999.

It doesn't matter where you start; you can always Hide/Sneak over to North Karana when you can't find groups anymore, and beg a nice druid to port you somewhere more populous.
