Default Additional solution for the blank server list problem

Just quick note for Netgear router/modem users(this may apply to others though I'm sure).

There' a built in security feature called "Port scan and DOS (DDOS) protection"

It can cause packet-loss for certain programs, and in the case of EverQuest, the server selection will be blank.

The feature can be turned off by opening your router web browser page, finding the WAN SETUP(or similar) from the menu. There is a check box "Disable Port Scan and DOS Protection"(could be called something different for non Netgear products).
Make sure it's checked which means it's disabled.
Then apply your new setting and restart EQ.

You should now be able to see the server list.

No, you will not be at a huge security risk by having this feature disabled. Your router will protect itself just fine.
If you have trouble opening your router's webpage, and or finding this option, Youtube is fully of videos about the Netgear routers and other routers that should show you the way (or seek out the company's website).
