Screen Turns BLACK when min

seems like i cant do anything BUT play this server when im on... ifi minimize to check email or go on aim,, when i click eq again, its a black screen...

game is still running tho, i can type , move n DIE!

i have to type /camp, wait 40 seconds and then press ESC a few times until im back at login screen...

ugh.. its been driving me absolutely NUTS but i never petitioned it.. so here it is!

Alternate between windowed and full screen (default is ALT+Enter). You may also be better off always playing in Windowed mode instead of full-screen. Let me know if that fixes it.

A similar thing happens to me when I play, but it seems something different triggers it. It might be hard to follow my explanation, but here goes.
In certain zones, when I look at certain things, like a hut in EC or the middle of the lake in Cab, or pretty much any ruins areas outside of cab my game freezes. The UI goes away and the image on the screen is frozen. I can alt+enter to minimize the screen and keep playing, but even in the windowed mode if I look at those same areas I freeze and have to alt+enter again. If I scroll up or down while the screen is frozen, when I minimize and come back into full screen I can move again, but I have to be looking straight up or down until I am far enough away from the trouble area.
This didn't used to happen, but I took a break from the game and when I came back after Kunark it happens in almost every zone. I can get by, but it is a huge pain in the ass, and also makes for an interesting gameplay, having to avoid looking at certain areas in a zone. Weird.

When my screen is locked, or I change resolution, the same black screen appears. I have to blindly /QUIT to go back to main login. Windowed mode, always. It is a video card issue (not a P99 issue).

It's actually not a direct video card issue, but an issue with the eqdx9.dll and how it uses the video driver or some video drivers. There is several issues that is somewhat similar like yours. E.g when ever i switch from windowed to full screen, i have to use the change video resolution to lock it to fullscreen .. or game just minimizes and reverts to windows again at the first mouse click. Sames as switching between windowed and full screen have a high risk of producing a "reset device" error witch crashes game. the bug was present on live too but got fixed, so its an issue with the eqdx9.dll of the Titanium client.

Just have to live with it, as the devs normally don't mess with the client code, as its property of Sony.
