![]() I've never been addicted to a game like this in at least the past 10+ years. In fact, when EQ was first released, thats the last time I truly enjoyed MMORPG gaming. There is something about EverQuest that it just gets "right".
I've played games like WoW, Skyrim, Oblivion, Runescape, LoTRO, Guild Wars, Ultima Online, Avernum, etc and I've always became bored. They were too easy... Kill 3 things and congrats, you are level 80. No hitpoints lost, no re-couperation needed, just kill kill kill, all by your lonesome. It all changed for me a couple weeks ago when I stepped back into Norrath.... and I was raped by a bat.... and I loved it. "Da Fuq? you like getting raped by leathery-winged animals?" No, sicko! Only on days that end in Y.... Listen, here's the dice.. I lost the past hours worth of experience and I had to travel through a couple dangerous zones just to get all my sh*t back. Am I glutton for punishment? Nah, but I do love a challenge and the feeling like I've actually accomplished something when I gain each level. It is so rewarding. It's especially neat to have some high level person come by, cast a few spells on you and turning you into a Grade A bad-ass psychadelic serial goblin killer. So here is Beev, the little level 9 Druid, broke as a joke, unable to purchase all of his spells, gettin smashed by bats and rats in Misty Thicket.. and I'm oddly enjoying every minute of it. Sorry for the novel but I just wanted to thank all of the people who made this world for me to fall back in love with swords and magic.. Keep doing what you are doing and I feel that I will be a resident of Norrath for quite some time. Beev | ||
