Game Mechanics: Lava Crawlers in LS are not flagged as 'summoned'

'a lava crawler' mobs in LavaStorm are not currently flagged as 'summoned' on the p99 server. They started out as Summoned on live, and then were changed in 2002 to not be summoned. Can be verified with comments on alla: http://eqbeastiary.allakhazam.com/search.shtml?id=1984

I also thought the 'a rock dervish' mobs were summoned, but I can't seem to verify that.

LS used to be a level 14 druid's play ground with the anti-summoned DD line, but currently the only thing in LS you can use it against are the fire elementals (and maybe the imps? I didn't see any imps in my brief incursion there)

seems to be interesting lore behind this particular mob.. they drop a rune of substance? as if whoever summoned them had to give them something with permanence so they could stay in this world.

..maybe I'm just high?

Pending update:

-Lava crawlers will be summoned creatures once again.
-They will require magic weapons to melee.
-You should see them more frequently.

If you are a mage, you will also find your ward summon line of spells in high demand here. it works on the imps and the snakes, altho not the dervs.

rock dervishes were also definitely flagged as summoned creatures. i think drakes were summoned as well, but i can't really remember. i'll look into it.

this is the earliest source i could find:

You will always find lots of mages and druids in this zone because of their ward/expulse summoned line of spells. Everything here is summoned, so these two classes really shine here.

follow-up edit: this thread from 2000 suggests that drakes were never summoned creatures.
