Smile Greetings, how many people can this server handle?

Greetings Project 1999!

My name is Bashur, I'm the creative writer/director for a series called "Legend of Hobo", it's a silly Minecraft machinima on Youtube ( http://www.youtube.com/bashurverse ) and I was blown away when I came across "Project 1999".

I have a huge history with EverQuest, and this is something that literally almost made me cry knowing that it even exists. I logged on just a few minutes ago and just was BAM! Blown away by the insane amount of nostalgia that hit me in the face!

I have a few questions, as I don't want to ruin the server or anything, but how many can this server hold before it starts to crash/lag/etc etc? I don't want to announce it to my fanbase if it's going to cause the server to overload. And two, is there anyway I can get the original EQ interface? The really tacky one that looked like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWisI2lSc_A

That's how I remember playing, and I would give anything to play like that again.

Thanks,
Bashur

P.S. Thank you, so much, for doing this.

Server around kunark launch was sitting at like 1600 or so and really wasn't laggy outside of a few instances of like Oasis docks with 300 people standing at it and crap like that.

Also, not really possible to get the old old UI, closest you can get is the Velious UI one.

Heya and welcome to the server. You better tell your fanbase quick, more people are always good for the server. And im sure it can handle them. As for the UI you can see all the aviable UIs with pictures here:

http://www.project1999.org/forums/sh...ad.php?t=11949

i think theres a somewhat classic UI aviable too. If you look at the "Getting started" page you can also get classic Loading-screens, sounds/musik and the classic login client.

You can also get Classic spell icons and Duxa's wicked easy all-in-one installer. And remember that not everyone has to buy Everquest Titanium to play. Some people prefer to rrent it.

I'll be announcing this to them soon'ish, thanks for the great replies!. Few more questions:

1: I can't get the name Bashur for my character, is there anyway to make this possible or?
2: I'm rolling a Dark Elf Cleric, what do you all suggest I put my points into during character creation? I remember that where you distribute your points back in the day really made a difference.

Thanks guys!! And sucks about the very classic UI =(

No, Knuckles is some attention driven whore who thought he was above all and deserved a name he was "known" by from another emu server.

Best bet is to friend Bashur and stalk them to see if the player even plays the toon then try and provoke them to delete or name change for you.
