Default Spell cost way overpriced

Spells seem to have gotten a HUGE bump in price. At level 8, my spells were over 5pp each! They should not be that high. At 34, my druid friend was paying over 25pp a spell.

I personally don't know the original world in terms of spell cost (played a melee mostly back then) but I figured I would check out some spell merchants. Just looking though some vendors as a newbie gnome mage... I see the spells starting at these cost (very rough).

lvl 1 - 1gp
lvl 4 - 5gp
lvl 8 - 4pp + change
lvl 12 - 6pp + change
lvl 16 - 8pp + change
lvl 20 - 10pp + change
lvl 24 - 12pp + change
lvl 29 - 14pp-15pp + change
lvl 34 - 19pp-21pp + change
all i feel like checking at the moment, heh...

Most of the spells I have checked do appear to have a higher coast than listed on allakhazam. However, I do remember spells costing a ton in the day. I vaguely remember the first spell levels costing a few gold and then sharply increasing after that. The spellbook would generally be full until level 8 and then you really only selected the MUST have spells to get you by.

I remember having to pick and choose which spells you got for the first handful of levels.

The costs are higher here than in classic, from what I can remember.

Might be true... but i also feel that obtaining early plat seems to be a bit buffed as well. This could also be a side effect of knowing where/how to obtain it.

exactly, its much easier to make money now than it use to be. also same point could be either the items are just priced higher or its kept knowledge we learned from then

Someone did not read the patch notes....

Spell Scroll prices for ALL classes have been updated to their classic costs
This is not a bug, it is as intended. Prices might be off a tiny bit due to prices always being affected by race/faction/charisma, but overall they are right on target. Allakhazam does not have the correct prices for spells, so I wouldn't go by that.
