We used to have maps in the starter zones/newbie zones (see Patch Notes circa 2009). They were removed in 2011, in an effort to go straight-edge Classic.

Do you have any suggestions? This game doesn't exactly help you out with where to go or what to do

The only maps available back in classic where the awful maps in the instruction book or printed out maps from EQ Atlas.

This server finally found a way to completely disable the maps to stay in line with classic implementation.

The wiki.project1999.org under Zones has maps associated with each zone. If you are unfamiliar with the zones, just leave your browser open and alt tab to check the maps.

EQ Atlas

=

Victory

(Y, X, Z)

With a standard axis being Y on the vertical, X on the horizontal. Z is height, and also not classic... I think it was added in Kunark or so.

Default Also!!

Max out your sense heading asap. Put 1 point in at the trainers(Your class trainer, where you turned in your first note thing).

Then set it as a hotkey and go to options and keys. Set the hotkey you put sense heading on to a movement key.. like W for forward, S for back, A for left, D for right. Whatever.

Over time it will raise by itself, and this will make your compass accurate. Making it much easier to navigate.

Alright thank you, I'm still really confused idk how to get my spells or anything lol This game has a steep learning curve coming and playing it back from newer mmo's I'm an MMO vet but this stuff is really confusing. I've played most mmo's from DAoC onward but I'm just sitting here scratching my head with this one. I really want to get into it though because I heard this game was AMAZING. Just wish there was a beginner guide or something.
