Game Mechanics: Rogue Issues

I currently have a level 21 rogue on R99..

I have noticed few things while playing...

1.) Backstab seems to be a ridiculous amount of hate even if it is missed.
2.) Backstab damage seems to be a bit off (not 100% on this) but i feel as if i miss way too much when i have 130+ dex. (is there a -% hit mod on mobs that are yellow or red to you?)

3.) I am told that i need 100 hide skill to be enabled to 'duck out of combat'.
I currently have about 110 hide skill and not once has the messaged popped up.. i have noticed a few times after doing so the mob changes aggro but i feel like that only happens because for those 3-4 seconds i am not attacking, the rest of the group builds just enough aggro to top the list.

Again im not 100% sure on the correct answers.. just figured id give information on things i think aren't 100% correct.
