Help with blacksmithing

Anyone have a good, very detailed, walkthough for smithing. Was going to try and get my skill up and make a suit of banded for my shaman but i can't even make anything besides sharping rusties. I put the water and 2 small piece of ore in and it doesn't do anything. I have looked threw several links of intructions but couldn't figure it out.

Also, anyone know where the molds are for the ringmail pieces? Don't see them so far in the troll town

Is there a difference between flask water and a water flask? i cant even make metal bits... im placing 2X small piece of ore separately and 1X water flask and it says it cant be made
