The real reason why this server is failing that none of you mention is so freaking simple it's a miracle nobody ever talks about it.

Classic Everquest pvp is DEAD. It's HORRIBLE. NO serious gamers take it seriously anymore. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BURNT BREAD NUBS.

EQ classic pvp is the most cookier cutter, paper-rocks-scissors exercise in mind-numbling, stupid, boring futility ever conceived, and it was FUN--12 years ago--because it was new. That's about it. Freaking nubs.

There's a reason why on a planet of billions of people only a few hundred retards that cannot succeed in life unless it involves spending 12+ hours a day playing an ancient dinosaur game take this seriously.

1) Ice comet.

Hi. I stand here and cast a spell. I wait. I wait some more. I look at my watch. 6 seconds go by. OMG the spell goes off! I WIN EQ. /wipes my shriveled unused sex organ all over the screen.

Omg I hit a button and 6 seconds later it PROVED I am the best. WHY? because I sat up every night when normal people were sleeping, having sex, preparing to do big things irl the next day etc. Because I never matured past the psychological stage I was in 6-12 years ago. Why? Because I am the BEST. That's why I say stupid shit like "U MUAD BRO," and call strangers on the internet "bros" and why I say I do "big things" in a dead ass game.

The fact is eq combat is slow and trivial and even a child could be taught to kill people with ice comet--FUN FACT #1.

2) Wizards have like a total of 2 options in Pvp. this is good for most retards because they usually cannot count past 2 anyway. Root! Ice Comet! Rooooooot! Ice comet! Ok I got 6 seconds to pray I don't get interrupted! OH SHIZ IT's MY COOKIER CUTTER ARCH NEMESIS! (Who could it be kids?)

3) Dah CHANTER! Omgz. the win of classic cookier cutter nonsense

4) So what did we learn. Really slow casting spells. Very limited options in combat for people that have very limited brains. Wizard > most, but chanter > wiz unless he's a total moron or gets really lucky resist checks. MY LUCK > YOURS HAHA U SUCK AT LIFE KID.

Seriously? You expect me to take this crap more seriously than this?

Go play a game of chess if you want real pvp. This game is for kindergarten wannabe pvp legends.

In Classic EQ there is no winner--only the biggest loser. From reading these forums briefly I don't even need to name names. It's already obvious who they are. "Big things" indeed. Swedish pop tarts.

God even WoW the game every EQ player rails and cries about for the rest of their miserable pathetic life is a vastly more intricate involving pvp game than classic eq ever was ever could be. Just face it. This game can't spread the mustard or cut through butter with a hot knife. Nobody wants to engage in your epeen nightmare anymore. WE've all grown up and moved on to do BIG THINGS in real life and in games that actually require real intelligence and skill and so on and so forth. Enjoy the horrible grinds, the retarded exploits, the slow trivial cookier cutter pvp combat. But most of all==Enjoy each other==you deserve each other.

Well, you wouldn't be making this post if you didn't get griefed off already. And your points are pretty awful. People don't play EQ emulator for pro esports.

Pretty sure my arena accomplishments on WoW, the game you list in comparison, dwarf yours by a wide margin. Rank 1 title on two different classes (s2 lock, s7 paladin), glad every season I played. Or maybe we could compare some of the sc2, dota, or cs players here to your self-proclaimed ability.

Tldr: you are not good at those games and you are not good at this game. Star wars the next game for you to get worked on then declare everyone awful in a fit of rage?

I agree-- people PvP in EQ because it's fun, and it has an element no game yet has been able to properly duplicate. Are there more complex games out there that require more binds, cooldown management, and strat? of course... but that's not why we play r99

To be fair, EQ was never a pvp game. It was really designed with PvE in mind. MMOs are bad examples of pvp games. If you want real pvp, you play FPS games which require hand eye coordination. I think TF2 is a very good example because it was built around players going against other players.
