Quest Issue: Staff of the wheel/Ice comet quest in

Quest is not classic and is currently in.

The famed Ice Comet spell.. It used to be very difficult to obtain due to research components being on Lady Vox and Lord Nagafen. There is a new Wheel Quest that allows you to get the two runes.

Quest was put in down the line, not sure when.

Ice comet required Vox/ Naggy raid

Remove quest and rewards handed out and any scrolls that might of been made already

yep, did not use to have every wizard one shotting folks as soon as they hit 49. at least make them work for it.

There is actually a thread about this already at Blue99 somewhere and GM's decided to put the quest in Classic cuz that's what they did on live.

Awww good ol Graffe's Wizard Compilation! A website designed for the classic EQ wizards out there. You can't argue against this Lovely. Looks like you will have to wait another 2+ months before you get your Ice Comet. Look at the 07/99 notes:

July 27, 1999 - 5:15pm PST
New server and client updates that are of importance to Wizards:

-The Fear Plane is now on-line.

-Players are no longer able to cast Shadowstep next to a zone point and teleport to an area past the teleport region, which is inaccessible to other characters.

-If the Eye of Zomm makes contact with a zone-point, the spell will immediately wear off.

-The Eye of Zomm now allows the caster to travel up and down.

-Rend (Wizard) is now available on certain Wizard vendors (lvl 49 spell).

-Wizard Portal and Evac spells have had their AoE radius range upped to match Druid Circle spells.

-A Quest for Ice Comet has been added.

-A Quest to help casters with research has been added. Good aligned races should check North Karana, while those with a more malign disposition should check South Ro.


What's interesting is the fact that many wizards thought Ice Comet would originally take 30 seconds to cast, lol..if you read the notes 08/99 you will see this. I'm so glad I was able to provide actual proof of the day Ice Comet was implemented to EQ. Keep it real guys. Keep it Classic!

Whats even more interesting is the fact they had neither Ice Comet OR Rend untill this patch.

Lets follow the timeline imo... Otherwise whats the point.

Lets please also not forget this is not only about the spell, but an easy as all get up 10int staff from the quest, that can be used before they can mem the spell.

And one more thing, please remove the spell " Harvest " from red99 and delete it from anyones spellbook who has it scribed, its not classic.
