Lookin to play a powerful class... but not "too" powerful.

So basically EQ classic I had a dark elf enchanter and dark elf shadowknight. Both of these were very fun and I felt like most of my kills were well deserved. I loved the enchanter but I feel with everyone wearing armor that late game is going to be a drag as an enchanter.

This round I have been looking to probably make a Troll Shaman... but my question to you is this.... if you get killed by a shaman, is it one of those classes were you think to yourself, oh well hes op anyways? Or would you think, good fight.

I still want to earn my kills, but would still like a powerful class. Basically I am thinking that Necromancer and Druid and Large Race Shadowknight (for melee) fit into the more dime a dozen always pk category who can wtf pwn most anyone. I just feel like a shaman might be a bit under these other classes in that unskilled players still will get rolled as a shaman. Thoughts?
