Default How many people do you think 2-box?

Been wondering. If I wanted to, I'm pretty sure I could request an IP exemption for my "roommate" and box safely, having done it for years on live. Making it look legit is so easy, and if the way they verify you is by making the two characters run in opposite direction, I'm guessing scores of people get away with it.

I don't know, if it was as high as 25% of the server population, it wouldn't really surprise me. Honestly, I feel like everyone with an IP exemption has done it at some point, no matter how minor. I mean, think about it; husband and wife both play and both have accounts. Husband is at home, wife is away for the weekend. Husband really really wants to transfer his [thing he wants transferred] to another character. How many people are going to see the harm on that guy logging on his wife character and doing a quick 2 minute transfer? How many people on this server do you honestly think have the integrity to wait those couple days? While it may not have caused any harm, that technically was still two boxing.

Then you have people who are at college or apartments with numerous wifi options, people who have access to their friends accounts with exemptions, etc... so yea, I wouldn't be at all surprised if it were upwards of 1/4 of the server.

i have a variety of different tests i use. a variety of different 2-box catching tricks i use. i don't think i've ever said 'run in 2 different directions'

my favorite test took me several months to hit upon.

i'm not going to list my 2-boxing test techniques here. so people can go practice how to beat them. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

how about you don't 2-box and then you don't have to worry about it? if you want to 2-box it's allowed on ez server.

with the use of auto run, high APM tabbing, and in-game macros... i wonder what amelinda looks for. i dual-boxed on PEQ for 2-3 months, sometimes 3-4 box. always with no bots running. 2 is really easy to keep seamless, 3-4 is a pretty tedious just to perform the roles all at once.

that said, most people suck at hiding it. best bet is to run the players in different zones, like that one guy sitting in EC on his alt. no idea how he got caught though. maybe he couldnt carry on two conversations at once? maybe the GM made one type the ABC's forward and one of them type it backwards in unison?!

Has there been any discussion about a P99 clone where multi boxing is allowed? I'd throw down a couple hundred for the infrastructure cost, as I always loved 2 boxing back on Live. And saying "go 2 box on EZ Server" is retarded. EZ server is boring as hell.

boxing on p99 would make the server boring as hell too, and for the same reasons

Twoboxing ruins private servers of every kind. No competitive legitimacy.
