If I were to start on Red99, I'll want to be a Cleric. My question is, how do I transform from the pacifist-loving-cozy-knitting-girly-cleric that I am, to a badass-rage-monster-uberbeast-with-complete-heal? What do PvP Clerics do?

PvP Clerics get gang raped so they can't heal...you DA and DB and pray to get ignored long enough to get off a heal. Once you're able to be attacked again, you die. This is of course assuming that you're participating in group pvp. If it's solo pvp, you cast a blind/root/nuke and realize that its all magic based and will be resisted 75% of the time and then you just gate/run.

Clerics are really valuable in PvP. They function as tanks a lot of the time, and can effectively crowd control a number of players by wasting their time hitting the cleric while getting killed themselves. A well-geared cleric is pretty durable, especially when you consider DA/DB. They struggle in really big battles where ten dudes will just pile on the cleric and people die so fast you can't get a heal off, and they struggle in 1v1. Anything in-between is great for a cleric, and it's one of the best classes to have in 2v2/3v3ish PvP. They're even pretty good all-around early on in a server's lifespan, because cleric nukes are okay when people have terrible resists, and then roots and stuns as well as amazing PvP buffs. Once it becomes easy to get 100+ MR, a cleric's offensive capabilities plummet and they become purely support.

This man is a fucking moron, clerics are the most important class for group pvp and a properly prepared cleric will win almost any 1v1.

Properly prepared? Concerning spells, gear, buffs, or all of the above?

A cleric can't really kill anyone with really high MR. Pre-Kunark they can probably beat just about any class if the guy has low MR, though. Pretty easy to get decent resists on a dwarf cleric, too.
