![]() Same for me any workaround for this? Norton removes the file as soon as it's unzipped.

![]() Well i was able to restore it, but now it says:
eqgame.exe - Application Error "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022). Click OK to close the application." I replaced with new version from the most recent p1999 update, and Symantec Endpoint protection immediately went after again. Now the game is working even though Symantec says it has the file in quarantine.

![]() Soon as I tried to run eq it kicked me out and norton said it detected a trojan. After it deleted the file I was able to start eq again however it needs the change zip file downloaded again to play. Not getting alot from google searches. I guess we just wait for a patch from the powers that be and hope that it was a false positive and not infected our computers. Seems like this just happened today as my wife had the same issue when she tried to start eq on her computer and we were playing fine last night.

![]() I'm gonna assume that this is the file that they introduced a few weeks ago that scans your own files to look for showeq or macroquest.... (which is illegal i might add without any consent)

![]() It isn't illegal if it scans for programs used in their server. Also, it's a free server. So if they want to establish the requirement that they are allowed to scan for programs they don't want used in conjunction with their software you either agree to it and play or you disagree and don't play. With that in mind, no judge will allow a lawsuit to proceed.
It's kind of like sex. If she says yes and you stick it in, she's screwed.

![]() Yeah guys, with literally thousands of players utilizing this server and probably 75%+ of them running anti virus, I wonder why it's only the couple of accounts that have almost no posts reporting this as a "trojan".
They already stated how it is detecting your hacks, which in no way violates your privacy nor does it in any way work like a trojan or virus. Rage more because you got busted?

![]() There is a way around this. I had my Norton detect it as a Trojan as well. You just have to go to setting and put the file in the exclusions section.

![]() Just want to say that this problem just kicked in for me and Norton also secured the file. It works fine now, thank you Rogean for the link. If the problem persists ill try it this way,
