Default PSA Drop Transfer at your own Risk

I've been experimenting with solo Shaman farming down in seb crypt but it's cumbersome to gate out with the loot and make my way back down solo. So I had the bright idea of drop xfer to a rogue bot at the safe spot and then hide/sneak the loot back out of the crypt.

Unfortunately I did this next to a full group. First I dropped two lumi staves. logged over easily with no hiccups but they were gone.

I then announced that I would be dropping a JBB and a Hiero Cloak and trying it again. I tried it again and those were also gone when i quickly logged over. maybe took a minute tops.

Soon after i alerted this full group that my stuff "poofed" one of the rogues went LD and a chanter gated and the group took a break to reform.

talking to a few friends, the consensus is that i'm a dumbass for attempting a drop transfer, especially in seb and especially near a full group. I left a petition in the forum, maybe I can get something back. Not the end of the world if i don't but this would be the biggest poof i've had. Just wanted to leave this here so maybe someone can get a chuckle out of my carelessness. perhaps a scoff. Maybe even a cringe

In the off-chance that new players use these forums: DO NOT DO DROP TRANSFERS.

NPC's pick stuff up.
Sometimes things poof.
People steal.

It sucks this happened bud. I think we all learned this the hard way at some point.

Worth mentioning, from a policy position, people picking up your dropped items: they are not stealing. They are picking up things you discarded. If you sell an item, drop it, give it to an npc then that is not your item anymore. You've relinquished ownership of it by doing this.

anyone using this as an excuse to interupt drop transfers is a jerk though

Items should last about 6 mins on the ground. I've done drop transfers many times. My rules are as follows:
1. Never drop something expensive like a fungi tunic.
2. Find a very out of the way spot where players aren't normally present.

You broke them both[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Most people will help with an xfer. Next time ask the person in the group with the biggest guild name.

Yes I could have traded them to a player but the idea is to have a repeatable way to get loot out of the tunnel when I’m down there solo. So I was practicing

Yeah crypt is one of those places where it's better to just gate out and xfer. Losing a heiro cloak or JBB is worse than spending the time breaking back in IMO.

Does that mean a reimbursement wouldn’t be granted from the staff?
