Default Why is Locustlure so expensive?

I remember it as a cheap twink item in 2000. No where near being the best item or anything like that. I can easily afford an Exquisite Velium Spear and Scimitar of the Emerald Dawn, but I want the Locustlure purely for "meh nostalgia" (I also farmed ravenscale which took forever). Trying to re-create my childhood character basically.

But noticing that Locustlure is kind of expensive for what it is? I've literally never seen a high level Rogue using it for Walking Sleep, and Enchanters have easy access to slow, so my only assumption is that the high price is because Necros use it for slow or something? Or do yall know something I dont?

It’s a pain to get since it’s a rare of a random zone mob that paths. It’s also 35% at 60 and the only economically feasible rogue slow weapon (people usually don’t put Willsappers on them).

A lot of people have rogues. IMHO every class that can slow with a proc should have that weapon in the bag.

That's kind of what I figured, but as you said, everyone has a Rogue. I commonly have 3 rogues in my group on my Cleric and I never see any of them using this dagger for slows, so I'm a little confused. I think the ratio is so weak compared to what they are using that they don't think it's worth it? Maybe only used when people solo or something?

People are lazy and don’t think to carry a slow weapon even for situational use. Swarmcallers are like 500p and some rangers don’t even have one.

It’s not always the move, but slowing stuff can save a ton of mana or even make some things possible that might not be. The MH of a rogue is doing most the damage anyways. For low-man situations or even groups without a slower, keeping it in the offhand isn’t the worst choice. Especially if it negates a hasted mob.

Useful to keep in the bags if your in a group without a slower. Even the low slow % helps mitigation a lot.

On my ench in some groups I didn't even bother with slow because stuff dies too fast to be worth it even if I could land it right off the gates. Makes random procs even more useless, might as well go for better damage weap and do your DPS job and bust it out on tougher targets if you think you'll be tight on heals.

In small groups or solo kills an early proc can help a fair bit when you get to 50+ content.

Not when you're killing mobs in 10-15 seconds. And if you're killing mobs in like 30-40 seconds I don't think trying to proc a slow is going to be worth it.

Anything more than a trio and I usually keep the swarmcaller bagged.

Luckily locustlure doesn't have *too* terrible of a ratio. There are better weps, but its fast.

Even when soloing, I typically didn't use Locustlure - I used Spine Break poisons
