One more fun note from the THJ soap opera: apparently the THJ founder has been ducking Daybreak's (six) attempts to subpoena him, so now they're asking the court if they can serve it over Discord (or Reddit).
Can't say I blame him or Daybreak, but a subpoena over Discord is certainly ... novel. https://massivelyop.com/2025/12/12/a...mulator-admin/

False. The founders of "The Heroes' Journey" (THJ) are Kristopher Takahashi (lead producer) and Alexander Taylor (developer).
The person they are trying to serve is Zachary Karlsson. A volunteer. Like you, who helps with the wiki etc. Daybreak's got a court order doesn’t just apply to the two guys they sued — it also applies to anyone helping them, even if they’re not officially named in the lawsuit. Zachary Karlsson is not a named defendant, but by his own sworn statement, he helped develop THJ, promoted it, and donated to it. The court order says people like that are bound to the order too. Daybreak is now trying to officially notify him of the injunction so they can legally enforce it against him if he keeps helping. So, essentially you're supporting DBG going scorched earth, not just on the people who "made money" on THJ... but the people who helped, promoted, and even donated their own money to help run the server. Shameful across the board.

IDK much about this topic, but I am curious how people like Turtle WoW and Project Epoch were able to evade a much larger company (Activision Blizzard), but somehow EQ emulators seem to be much more vulnerable to a smaller company? Also I’m trying to be careful with my rhetoric here because I think it’s dangerous ground for p99 forum to be seen as an anti DBG propaganda soapbox. We should prob keep this type of discourse on reddits and twitter lol.

I don't know about Epoch, but Turtle's owned by Russians and it's tough for Blizzard to go after them directly. Blizzard is using a different tactic against Turtle and trying to go after their web connections to the western regions.
No anti-DBG soapbox here: Any P99'er ought to appreciate their restraint. For many years they've played a lot nicer with the EMU community than they really had to, up to and including eventually coming to formal terms with P1999. THJ's actions were so brazen it practically forced EQ's hand.

Enad 7 Global. They are the ones with zero restraint, now serving someone who simply contributed to THJ. Quote:
Do you think he was getting a cut of the donations? Enad 7 doesn't seem to think so. But they still want him to pay.
