Default Necro Back after break (no ideas which spells to use)

Hey guys/gals, I'm trying to get back into the groove of things with my 53 necro on green but I can't for the life of me remember which spells I should be using (specific names). Which dots are my go-to's? Should I be downranking my slows (I sort of recall doing that). Just trying to remember what the most efficient "rotation" was for this level range.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

https://wiki.project1999.com/Necromancer_efficiency and sort by mana efficiency, discount any dots you don't like (high fizzle mod, too slow, etc).

At 53 your best bet for dots: splurt, ebolt for dps/ignite blood for efficiency

paralyzing earth is your long root, root/hungry earth is your cheap bad root

I just use a cheap snare if I use snare at all. I charm solo so don't snare a whole lot, and have epic now so when I do I just click that.
Hardly an expert but the above works for rotting mobs left after charming through a pack

at 53 I would shoot for HS basement charming (you can use beguile undead since mobs max at 46) or working on your VP key if you're in a guild that goes there, since verix/rotting skel/pained soul are relatively good xp camps at that level

I think going to KC and doing a little charming in a group setting may be a safer option so OP can get back in the groove.

Then go hit HS when you've got the charm thing down, just be careful zoning in.

Yeah I definitely want to play it safe. Came back to 1/4 bubble till’ 54 and a death would be a pretty demoralizing way to start. That being said I don’t want my rust to impact other players so i’m thinking a nice big open zone to get the feel of things again would be nice. Let’s me make my dumb mistakes in private hah.

people are half asleep in KC anyway its the most braindead 50-60 leveling place on p99

you'll be fine...and if you happen to catch a good player there, just ask questions!

once you're confident, definitely go to HS...classic necro leveling experience...and if you can find a duo there that'll help with the learning curve...or hit up enchanters close to your level and see if they want to tag along

dont forget necro heals are sleeper good in groups! a bard + necro can heal groups no problem so dont be afraid to join weird group comps

That’s awesome to hear! I’ll give KC a try sooner rather than later in that case. Thanks for helping me jump back into the deep-end of the pool!

Howling Stones doesn't have a better ZEM than Karnor's Castle, nor MOB's that are easier for their level, and you can't easily run to the exit or maintain Jboots, AND it requires extra time to get the key. There's no benefit to leveling there instead of KC, aside from perhaps KC being overcrowded on a given day.

I'd also rather level in City of Mist than HS. Plenty of undead for a Necro to charm.

And if you don't want to charm, there's better zones than all of those places.

basement in KC is good because you'll get your verix vp key piece if you level there enough
