Default Possible to be a casual raider?

After seeing all the guild drama and how hardcore people take raiding here. Is it possible to be a casual player (20 hours a weekish) and still be able to see raid content?

If your times online just miraculously happen to coincide with major mob spawn windows.

Well, no. You're never going to see some zones, but you can kill the old Classic stuff again and again ad nauseum.

All depends on timing. If bosses pop while you're online, and you find yourself in a guild who actively goes after said boss, then yes, you can see plenty of raids.

However, bosses don't like to pop when you want them to. If you're only online at a set time (say after work), you will struggle to see a great many boss spawns. Although you will see some if you stick around long enough.

Then there is the issue of getting into a guild that actually does most bosses. At this point in p99, only a couple of guilds really drop anything with TR landing the vast majority of the spawns. So unless you're in TR, the chances of your guild killing the bosses when they spawn drop pretty dramatically (at least right now).

So couple the low, set playtime with the fact that you probably won't be in TR (unless they are really zerg recruiting) and you have a pretty low chance to ever see a major boss die. Those are just the facts of the server unfortunately.

Casual raiders become more viable in Velious. Be on dragon faction and farm giants with guild for some pretty sweet armor and hope for a shot at Vindi/AoW. NToV will probably be locked down by TR for the most part, but the other wings might be more free. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

A casual player will likely not see an AoW kill for at least 1-1.5 years after Velious. It's the biggest gear check fight in the game at that point. No, kerafyrm doesn't count, because no one will ever kill it on this server.

Few guilds even killed AoW pre-luclin, there's a very low chance that a casual guild will be able to kill AoW before at least 1.5 years after Velious release.

Anyway there a lot of raid content in velious. I never got to kill AoW on live as i was a casual raider. But i had a lot of fun anyway, with some kunark and classic raidmobs, kael, and halls of testing in tov [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

And 20 hours week of raiding is more than needed, you just need the luck that Raidmobs spawn in your time. Recently they spawned a lot on weekends so that might work.
