Default Unusual Issue (similar to half crash)

This issue happened to us last night and once prior many months ago.

We were in SolA last night (two connections from the same house). All was going well for a number of hours. Suddenly, we experienced this weird issue which I will try to describe..
1) We couldn't do anything in the world which involved clicking. (couldn't open doors, couldn't cast spells, couldn't talk.
2) The other players appeared frozen in the position which they were in when this issue started. So, if someone was sitting, they were stuck in that position. The could however be seen to walk around, turn, etc.
3) We could not see doors being opened but the other players in the group were opening doors and going through them. To us, it appeared as if they walked through the doors.
4) They could receive our messages but we could not receive any from them.
5) We did not see any mobs but the group was fighting mobs..
6) If we tried to cast a spell when this was happening, we would be unable to do anyting else (such as /camp or try casting anothe rspell) as it would give a message along the lines of having to wait for the spell to finish casting.
7) We could /camp and .quit.
8) Returning to the same characters resulted in the same issue. It would generally show up after about 10 seconds or so,
9) Logging in a different character in a different zone resulted in no issues (we could send and receive tells and play normally). Camping and entering the world with the previous characters resulted in the same issue.

This happened last night in SolA and several months ago in Unrest. Last night was not an issue as we were comping (it was late). When this happened in Unrest, we wound u logging in other characters to play.

It was all a very odd experience.. It was as if we were not receiving updates from the world (doors, mobs, spells, etc) however we were receiving updates from the other characters as they moved around (but no chat). It was like an odd sort of packet loss. I don't expect anyone to be able to really help but I thought I'd mention it here to see if anyone had experienced this before.

This happens to me occasionally, when I lose connection for 20-30 seconds and then regain connection. For me, the easy fix was to camp and log back in, unless I am fighting something - in which case I often die.

Yes, I've had that happen as well. The unusual part about this recent experience was that logging out and in did not correct the problem. Logging in with other characters did. Even if I logged out from the problem character, logged in with a different character in a different zone, make sure all is well, log out from that character, log back in with the initial problematic character, the problem was still present.

I have experienced lag spikes before and this is very different. The packet loss meter shows that my connection is fine in this instance as well..
