Mage Pet Research Spells (Need 2 Copies)?

Am I right.

You use one set to scribe and actually use the pets. Then the other set to use in the research for the next level pets?

So essentially, we need to gather enough components to research 2 sets of pet spells in order to keep the research pet going to the next level, then the next, etc...

Yes, mage research is the most annoying in the game.
Originally the OOT vendor wasn't there and after lvl 16 every pet had to be researched.
You can rather easily hit level 50+ off vendor pets, though having some variety is nice.

You can definitely make your own spells as you level up, just be prepared for some failures, but most of the time you'll get at least 1 or 2 the pets you're after and that's usually enough.
