spells_us.txt outdated error has some issues

On a lesser note, there's a typo: "verison" >> "version"

I have exact same issues. The message from client, as well as the forum being private and unaccessable

have that same issue no matter how i replace the file from V53 so i cant get on tonight

I'm having this issue as well, and again have updated the files on the latest patch to no avail... even deleted the old files in the folder and replaced with the new ones, and still getting this error.

Having this exact problem. copy the file from P99Files52b zip and still can't log in. link says i don't have access.

Downloaded P99Files53 from homepage into downloads folder.
Extracted/unzipped file directly into my EQ folder.
Open game with WinEQ
Login
start green
Error - Spells_us.txt needs to be replaced with correct version

Same problem for a number of us. Have seen some suggested fixes, but they did not work. Is there a problem with the patch itself or am I and others doing something wrong?
