Default How are Mages in Kunark?

I know mages are very strong in classic, but in Kunark how do they fare? Does their power drop off that much from 51 to 60? Are they valued in groups/raids?

Mages will be strong in Kunark because they will use all the plat they farmed to gear up a level 1 Iksar monk. amirite?

Ok ok serious answer. I'm pretty sure they're valued in exp groups even now in deep Velious on Blue. Don't worry, mages will always be good. For raids, they can be good dps unless the mob has a fear AE. Then it's tough to find a good use for them, especially if the mob is resistant to their nukes. However, Call of the Hero means that character will be valuable and very necessary for raiding.

Mages are always a solid class. Very straightforward, they sacrifice the enchanter and necro utility for being good dps at a very chilled out playstyle. No stress no fuss

Mages are strong in classic and remain strong through Velious. The problem isn't that they get weaker -- but content gets substantially harder. That is why for some of the "godmode" clears, it often requires an enchanter or a shaman or a cleric. The ability to charm, to slow/torpor and to CH (a charmed pet) create basically a way to either manipulate the force of a mob against itself or to severely limit the threat of a monster who is only attacking 1/4 as much of the time etc.

Those are basically the exceptions. A few classes that can ascend beyond the boundaries does not indicate those who are limited by the boundaries are weaker or inferior. They are still great for a straight forward DPS class. But they cannot bend the game to work their will, like the aforementioned classes/class combos played at the highest level.

Just my 2pp.
