Game Mechanics: Apply Poision

I was given some poisons from a friend and was anxious to try out this feature. My inventory was full so I tried to put a backpack on my cursor and right clicked the poison.

I immediately sat down and when I stood back up I got the skill message that I didn't apply the poison, but the poison wasn't used up and on my cursor. The backpack (Lionhide) was gone.

My friend told me to camp and log back in and it might return, no luck. Petitioned in game, hoping to get my Lion hide backback returned.
