Default Close Encounters with a Sordid Sort

Anyone who has spent a significant, or even an afternoon, of one’s time in 50+ areas knows that there are excessive members who exist somewhere on the spectrum playing up in those areas. I’m sure many of you have even witnessed them down below where one should be able to level with the joy of relaxation and Everquest. I’m here to tell you of the one’s I’ve seen that particularly stood out, and I want to hear your encounters with Asperger’s, autism, down syndrome, and all other syndrome’s that, for those who have them legitimately, take great offense of having the no lifing neck bearded scum tarnish the label with their inclusion. Let us make a compendium of such stories. I fully advocate naming and shaming of such degenerates. I, sad as it is, have lost the names to time, but never the imprint of absurdity they made on memory.

A tale from live:

I had a friend from school, back before EQ atlas was even established, whom asked me quite condescendingly, “Mitch, what’s the shortest distance between two points?”
You see, I had asserted that it was faster to travel along the road and cutting through the countryside of Northern Karana than to run the shore. My friend was attempting tell me about straight lines. Of course, now with the maps we all know too well that North Karana’s shore has a 90 degree angle. But, my pal didn’t realize any of that, nor did it dawn on him that you couldn’t auto walk the entire shore like one can in Western Karana. So we made a bet, and that bet lost him an executioner’s axe.

Troubled times on P99:

When playing Everquest I am a kind man. If a group asks me if they can share spawns I oblige, as I am fine with sharing. When loot is distributed and I’m the leader I make sure that it is done fairly. I assist, engage, help, assuage, and in general try to be as accommodating to others time as possible. But there have been times in the past where I have run against the fouler sort on this server. The kind of people where you feel from across space and time you can still smell them. This day, a year or so ago, was such a day.

In theory I always enjoy duo grouping. I’ve had wonderful experiences with nice people, quiet but successful experiences with laconic people, and then I’ve had the great misfortune to sally up with Everquesters who mean serious business. A June morning, City of Mist, upon ramparts. I am killing, chilling, watchful and aware as one should be when charming, and I was about to have my third request for a duo that day. I accepted, knowing that the experience does increase. From the start the wobbling wonder of Wikipedia began to critique each move, each spell, each and every decision.
“Did you know that you could dispel the root from your pet? Why are you pulling from over there? What the hell was that about?” On and on this seer went.
I am not one to think that I know everything, and take criticism appropriately. But, one should not take assertions for sake of assertions, and should themselves evaluate the value of wild claims that come from fat tit belly sweating men. I have noticed that people, especially the more foolish in Everquest, who make obvious claims treat the knowledge as if they are the unknown secrets of Everquest. And, that they dialogue on about them because at one point they were themselves baffled by the revelation.
Time went by, skeletons did die. As the three hour session went on my companion became more heated about his obvious opinions, which while mathematically not wrong, were situationally irrelevant and sometimes simply incorrect. His sage advice was such, “Did you know that if you cast a direct damage spell the mob will die faster than if you were to place a dot?” I could just see my chum pressing his greasy glasses from the tip of his nose further up with his fat sausage like ring finger, not wanting to touch it with the others as they had chicken nugget sauce smeared across them, to then lick those purple thick digits and type in huffed ferocity at me not knowing his wisdom.
It’s possible that this vault of Everquest knowledge was feeling a bit sour, not from that McDonald’s sauce that his mother left at the top of the stairs, and was taking his aggression out on me, as he had died twice this session. Likely in his mind it was my fault, because for those who only know the obvious and are wary of thinking critically, all deaths are always everyone else’s fault. So he leaves in a fury after the second one, says nothing, drops group, I kill for another thirty minutes and log off.

I come back later that day and find him camping the ramparts again. I watch and begin to giggle as my old pal makes the same mistake that had killed him with me again and again. Apparently it was never described to him in all the wiki notes he took down that charmed pets can break unexpectedly, and that you shouldn’t sit and meditate three fucking feet away from them. You see, I never told my old pal why I was standing so far away and along the path with the least amount of patrolling mobs and spawns, and a great distance away from my charmed pet. He always sitting with his nose buried in golem assholes would have his stun interrupted, interrupted again, resisted, and dead. I watched as he did the same thing again and died another time. So I took the camp back and finished off the two mobs while he had an unfortunate corpse run. Neck beards never learn it appears.

Default Where we’re going we won’t need eyes to see.

Wrong. The shortest distance between two points is zero, and that's what the gateway does, it folds space so that point “A” and point “B” coexist in the same space and time. When the spacecraft passes through the gateway, space returns to normal.

This was good. But doesn't confirm autism, only that this person is a sucky enchanter.
