Temporary Solution to the boat death problem

Wasn't sure if I should put this in bugs or not, I figured server would be safer.

We all know about the falling problem w/ boats and the easiest way to avoid that is to have levitation, but not everybody is capable of levitating themselves.

If it wouldn't take too much time I think it would be cool if the devs could put NPCs at the docks which hand out summoned levi rings when hailed.

Doesn't give anything permanent but provides 30ish minutes of free levitate to people who are traveling to/from Kunark via boat.

Or you could have the npc just cast levi on you kind of like how the guy in DC heals.

What stops people from using those rings or that casted Levi to travel once they get to said dock?

A 30 sec cast on you while on boat would be better, if you are on boat it keeps refreshing, if you step off 30 sec later it's gone.

Dunno what ppl would do with a fairly short term buff that would be game breaking.

seems like classic to me. I remember constnatly falling through the boat or getting knocked off. That is how i got my swimming up.

This is exactly WHY the P1999 devs included this 'bug' in their Kunark launch.

I think the NPC should hand out 1kplat for port money to everyone so they can pay their druids/wizards for a TL to DL!

Falling through or falling off is one thing, but when its instant death from fall damage it's a different thing.

In classic if you were to die due to a bug like that you could petition and likely get a full xp rez. I can't personally confirm but I've been told by guild-mates in game that the guides won't really care if you die due to this bug and will tell you that you should have had levitate.

I was just offering a simple, non-game breaking temporary solution. But Rog says it's fixed next patch, so a moot point.
