Miscellaneous: XP death from PC DoT

I had someone duel and dot me and gated to my bind point in order to save some summoned bags I had on me. The dot killed me for an xp death. 3 hour rez timer. This isn't supposed to happen, right?

were you bound in the same zone?

assuming you saw a loading screen, i've had that happen like once to me out of a bunch of times. was probably a glitch, but if you can reproduce it with specific dots or specific zones, then that would be really helpful for the devs

Thats nothing, I once gated out of a fight in Chardok, only to be summoned back and killed after I successfully gated out and zoned.

Amelinda didn't do anything for me but give me a "Yeah, that happens."

I was not bound in the same zone. The spell was cast in permafrost and the death happened in FV. I don't know if I could recreate it but I do have a SS. Although I don't see how that would help.

So you got Dotd, gated to another zone, than died from the Dot? Seems like this is accurate considering you left zone you dueled in (forfeiting the duel).

I know your intentions but i believe this is how its supposed to work?

DoT duel death = XP loss it was like this on live - atleast early on it was- thats why many people hated dueling necros etc and if they where going to die to the dot they pleaded to kill them via melee or DD-- many an a-hole necro/shaman etc would duel people and try and dot kill and make them loose exp, for the lulz!

About 98% sure on red server a death from dot after zoning is 0% loss (not pvp or PvE). Can't test for you tho am at work.

I used to manastone low and dot myself and Zone over for a no loss death to corpse najena keys when doing jboots.
