Default Jewelcrafting in Kunark

So lets talk jewelcrafting. Is there anything different JC-wise in kunark? Is it still worth pursuing as a trade or are many of the once popular crafted items now obsolete with better Kunark stuff? What is the JC cap anyhow?

Only thing that happens in Kunark with jewelry is that the skill cap went up to 250. However we have already been enjoying the 250 skill cap so there won't be anything for us again till Velious with velium jewelry.

The craft didn't really get interesting till Planes of Powe and beyong in my opinion.

I was a Jeweler in classic and it never was a great trade in my opinion. Sure you can make some nice stuff, but it's mostly for twinks or even a friend who probably needs a 55hp ring.

To get up to the point where you make the good platinum I'm sure it still takes a huge amount of selling to break even. Theres always some demand for the stuff, but whether or not it's worth it on p99 is questionable in my opinion. The time alone should be worth something to you.

Tradeskills like JC are a cool part of eq... Resist gear and bs hp gear will always be sought after for twinks... If you want to take up a trade JCing may be the best i'n terms of easy to learn an profitability..plus you can meet new people and make new friends!!

Brother and i skilled up JC as we leveled up, up into our late 40's.

We prolly dropped 10k into getting 250 skill.

Weve probably make 60k+ selling jewelry, in a little over the time it took to get the skill in the first place.

Definitely. Even in Kunark it's very difficult to get pieces that are better than crafted pieces before level 40 or so without shelling a good chunk of change. Even then, these better pieces will wind up on mains and well twinked alts. Most of my alts are still wearing fire opal rings for AC/HP and diamons/blue diamond/Wolf's eye agate/jacynth jewelry for resist gear.

It's one of the only crafting skills that always has viable options for players that are playing on a budget.
