Default Availability of low level groups?

I currently play on a live tlp server where everything is essentially permacamped and it’s full of farmers. My favorite class to play is a rogue so I obviously need groups. If I were to switch over to p99 are there enough people lvling up to find steady groups?

Yes but it's limited to a handful of zones.

Crushbone > Unrest > Mistmoore > City of Mist > Karnors > Seb

is the most popular route.

Honorable mentions:

Oasis
Highpass Keep goblin camp
Kurns
WW Giant Fort
LoIO Sarnak Fort

The first few levels maybe not. But any class even rogue can get 6 or 7 levels easily enough

After that there is more and more group opportunities the more you level up. On p99 there is several zones that pretty much every day have level appropriate groups going on getting exp

Crushbone, Oasis, Unrest, Mistmoore, Highkeep, City of Mist, Karnor's Castle, Sebilis - All consistently have level appropriate groups pretty much everyday on p99

Other zones such as...Blackburrow, Befallen, Kaesora, Howling Stones, Droga, Nurga, Warrens, SolB, SolA...Definantly see use but usually from people who organize their own group or players who are experienced and solo or duo for exp

However if your worried about the low level part of Everquest I wouldn't worry about it on p99. The community is very helpful to low level players and server newbies and often give away some starter gear and high level buffs to get ppl started along... If you can get to like level 10

One of the major differences at least in my opinion on p99 is there is a bit less (full 6man group) than you may expect than the classic experience simply because on p99 you have lots of players that know how to solo, or a lot more duo / trio groups rather than full 6mans (however this works well for rogues... just make friends with those leveling up necromancers and provide your professional backstabbing services to exp with them)

Yes, Mistmoore, Crushbone, Unrest, Kurn's, CoM, Karnor's, all have pick-up groups.

EDIT: awkward when two people are faster than you.

Awesome. I’m going to try to get this set up tonight when I get off work. Sounds like this will be better than the tlp I’m on right now.

Also on p99 you may find some groups silly easy and get crazy exp when one of your group members is on his 7th alt and is tanking with fungi tunic, cloak of flames and about 300k plat worth of gear at level 20 lol

That’s fine with me. My rogue I currently play is at lvl 50 and I’m struggling to find groups regularly. I’ve got a couple pieces of my epic, but can’t find help with the fights. The idea of starting over kinda sucks, but if the overall experience is better it’s worth it. And it’ll be free.

Groups like rogues too. If a rogue and nearly any other dps is LFG, groups often take the rogue first. I have been leveling a rogue alt myself recently and have had no trouble at all getting groups and I'm up to 44 currently.

Once you are 10+ you can go to oasis to group. Some of my best friends in the game 55+ were friends I made at orc highway in Oasis.

I recently started a char on the newest live TLP server, and the experience is night and day. Not saying the TLP server is bad, but it is certainly not a direct competitor with P99, as they deliver very different gameplay experience.

Just to echo everyone else so far, this server is definitely group friendly at all levels. jolanar is correct though in it being limited to certain zones, and that can actually make finding a group difficult at times due to overcrowding, or it can slow down the xp because there are so many groups in one zone at a time.

If you make friends or join a guild, this can be easily avoided by putting together your own groups in less frequented areas.

The population is very healthy at all levels though, and you shouldn't have any problems rolling a group dependent class.
