Wolf form and lions

I was poking around on archive.org and found this page from a site that I used a lot back in the day: eqdruids.com
this comes from the earliest record of the site, in 1999

An important buff during this tactic especially in East Karana is staying in wolf form because otherwise there are plenty of lions that will still try to take advantage of a sitting person there.

on p1999, I get attacked by lions while sitting in wolf form.

is there any other sources of information that could verify one way or another whether that's correct behavior for a lion?
