Rotating large stacks of Mod Rods

I’m looking for some Dev verification. We raiding mages will create large stacks of mod rods that number over 100 at times. We rotate them before the rot timer exceeds the 5 minute mark. When I pick up a mod rod from a stack of 100, am I picking up the oldest rod from the pile (longest dropped timer) or the most recent rod dropped into that pile? Can anyone verify this? Thank you

you are picking up the most recent.
just drop 2 items on the ground, pick them up, the last one you dropped should be 1st to pick up

easiest tested with items that drop as a small bag
