Spells: Convoke Shadow

I've noticed this twice now leveling a Necro up, the level 12 pet spell is bugged when I cast this as a level 12 it ONLY summons blue pets at 14 it summons light blue pets. So I would assume its coded incorrectly to summon the same as lvl 8 pet spell.

Anyone else notice this?

Yes, absolutely!
Even at level 12 when you are able to learn Convoke Shadow it has brought up a light blue pet to me.

Although, I currently have no evidence to support that it should be otherwise.

happened to me today, i dismissed the LB pet and resummoned and got a DB pet.
