Default Poor internet connection

I'm a steamfitter and I'm in camp a lot for work. There's internet but it's slow and it really slows down at night while everybody watches porn.i usually bring my PS3 as it has a powerful modem.i wanted to buy a used lab top off Craigslist so I could play p99 after work.any tips on what I should be looking for in a lab top for this task.does ram matter or would some sort of wireless modem help? Also I figured I would play a necro (solo mostly) because I figure they would be the least affected class by a slow connection.
I assume that after the mob has bin slowed and feared the important stuff happens server side.

I would love some input on the matter,I don't want to buy a MacBook because I'm not good with computers and getting p99 to run on a Mac would be an extra task that would baffle my symplistic mind

I bought a 25.00 laptop off CL, it runs P99 Fine. This game was released in 1999. You do NOT need a fancy PC. The bare minimum will run this game. Do not spend alot of money if you're just wanting to play.

As far as internet goes, there's not much you can do about it. Whatever your limit being. Playing a necro because it consumes less bandwidth. That makes no damn sense... Just my .02 though.
