![]() Another newb question for my chanter : why do I see many enchanters using a Torch as a weapon for pets ?
Does it do more damage ? Am I missing something ? If you want your pet to quad, the best is to use a torch plus another weapon ? Thanks for help !! | ||

![]() Makes your pet DW without having to actually give your pet two weapons.
Makes for a nice dps increase. Charm pets will also DW with a weapon and a shield

![]() It's forces pets to dual wield. It is also lightweight and only costs six silver.

PCs need weapons to attack, NPCs only need to have the slot filled.

the reason you use a torch is that its secondary only, so it is forced into the offhand of the npc. That's why shields and instruments work just as well. The NPC is already attacking with their main hand, so when they put an item in their secondary slot, they start dual wielding.

You can, however, give a pet a 2hander and an offhand only item at the same time, and they will keep both equipped.
