Hello all, It's good to back in the EQ universe after some time. I made an Iksar monk last night and grinded to level 4. I did some wiki research for a leveling path and found: 4-6 Warrens in FOB, 6-8 LOIO 8-12 Furbies in Pit FOB, 12-20 Kurns Tower. Any ideas after Kurns? Also, does anyone have tips for getting some starter gear? -Jupitaur | ||

I think Loio is good in the 20-30 range and there are some select spots in OT as well that you might have success finding groups. Warsliks woods giant fort is another option in this range.
Next it's off to OT for the 30-40ish range. Don't make the mistake of sauntering into the outpost thinking "hey, I'm evil so I'm welcome here, right guys?"...wrong, they will flay you and decorate the walls with your hide and the golems will crush your bones into flour for outpost pastry snacks. The giant fort in Frontier Mountains is another place to check out in this lvl range. After that you can head to the dreadlands and try your luck posting up outside the walls of Karnors castle for the 40-50 range. City of mist is another option at this point. At 50+ish you can venture past the dreaded drolvarg guards and into Karnors proper. Finally at about 55+ it's time to head out into the Kunarkian wilderness to of the lost city of sebilis in search of fortune and fame. As for gear, just try to save up for some cured silk and 5ac, 55hp rings and some wu's sticks. The beauty of being a monks means you can use your bare hands and life is still good. Use whatever trash blunt weapons you find to level blunt weapon skills. Look up the monk shackle quests and get those started too. Good luck young lizard adventurer!

Either one, whichever you can find a group in.

If you get bored of being a lizard, but still want to be evil, roll a Dark Elf. You get all the benefits of getting started near EC Tunnel. (sell your bone chips, skins/pelts, and such there, and acquire gear from sellers there.) Kill a hundred orc pawns and the EC shopkeepers will even allow you to buy/sell.

Kill spiders and save up the silks. You can make yourself a set of raw silk armor which is decent for a young monk. Don't kill Burynai so that you don't wreck your faction. When you get to 16ish, you can camp the undead jester in Kurn's and get an Iksar Berserker Club which is a pretty solid 1hb for a while. Being dubious to the Burnyai makes that camp a lot easier.

Ha ha! My first toon ever on P99 was a dark elf necromancer, but I rerolled after level 16 as an Iksar necromancer and haven't really played anything else besides the Iksar. I have a couple soft skin alts so I could see the rest of the world with relative ease though.
