Default What happened on this day in history?

Not a forum game per se, but a topic flow of sub-topics.

* Find something on this day in history that interests you and post about it. At least a paragraph worth, not just a link or list. Say like the subject, the facts, then your opinion on it. You can link, but keep copy/paste to a minimum.

* Discussion of what other people post for that day. Discuss, but 24hrs after their Original Post, the topic is dead and move on. You can always start another thread on it, which is a bonus for forum diversity of topics.

So example: Today is Nov. 14. Anyone and everyone can grab one historical topic per day and post it, whatever year you like... in the past [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] ...historical like. Discussions open on those posts. After ~24hrs, you can pick a different topic to post for that day (example: Nov. 15th etc.) and it's open for the next 24hrs (give or take some hours).

Breakdown of my first post below: The title (required). Facts about it, (optional) can post a paste paragraph with link (no more than pasting 1 paragraph). Then your comment (required) more than a couple sentences, however long you like. Images optional. Replies on topic!
