Default South Qeynos zoning issue

Is this a problem that everyone is just living with, or is it just me and my wife? Takes us up to 6 or more attempts to zone into SQ. Each attempt requires restarting the game, so that's 30 minutes on average to get a toon into SQ. Every other zone (that we've been to) in the game loads us in within seconds on the first try. It's kind of a big deal for us and is approaching quitting proportions. Anyway, have tried every bit of "zone crash" advice that I can find. Affinity setting, wineq, firewall off and such has no effect. Any ideas?

So I made a test toon on EZ server. Loads South Qeynos there just fine. Ten trips across the zone line with no issues whatsoever. Come back to P1999 and client freezes on the the 3rd attempt.

Erudin is the 2nd zone that's hanging up. Nobody else has this problem, really?

Never heard of anything like this. You might want to reinstall a fresh copy somewhere, and replace the zone files you have a bad experience with.. and also maybe the zone you are in before you attempt to go to south qeynos.

Did you and your wife start playing off the same install?

I've had a similar problem with zoning from Halas to Everfrost and North Felwithe to Greater Faydark... but it's not every time... just always the same zones when it does happen.

I don't seem to have a problem if I stay on the EQ window until after I get the "Loading" message (I play in windowed and tend to tab out while zoning occasionally), but that may be coincidence.

If I do get hung up, it seems to always occur before the "Loading" message appears.
