Default Question on Phinigel 'classicness' and p99 response

Did a search here and didn't find anything... I'm curious, with the new EQ Phinigel progression server, is the content truly being considered 'classic' to the p99 staff and community? I know there is raid instancing (blah) and content unlocking every 12 weeks, but that aside, will that content that gets released be accurate compared to classic EQ timeline (i.e. no new mobs / loot tables added that came many expansions later)?

What I'm getting at, is if 'new content' is discovered in Phinigel (old EQ has said there were a multitude of undiscovered quests), would p99 update accordingly or not accept this as being classic because 'you never know' if it was added in / fixed?

Furthermore, for zones like the Hole I remember there being slightly different loot tables and a named steel Golem I discovered during Velious era in Golem Tower but was never documented on EQ bestiary or Allakazam's.

Any dev feedback is appreciated, I'm debating making a 'discovery' toon that I wouldn't level much but just gather some intel on mob spawn points, etc and compare to p99. Just wouldn't want to waste my time if Phinigel isn't being considered 'classic content'.

Its not code from classic so wouldnt take anything that was "found" on phinny to be something from classic times.

Straight up. even Daybreak gave props to the p99 team and community for recreating classic from the ground up.

There was a tendency for SoE to add in items that looked like they could be from the era years after the content was mostly trivial. This makes people new the classic EQ scholarship frequently confused about what was classic and what was added in later on these progression servers.

Damn, my dreams crushed in the blink of an eye. Thanks for the quick feedback, looks like I will save myself the time of creating a little rogue to sneak around.

OP you can RMT for weapons and shiny items if you have a fat wallet.

That's about as unclassic as it gets.

People RMT'd in classic all the time. There was a time when Everquest stuff was allowed on Ebay early on and it was filled with people selling stuff.

I can say for a fact that it was rampant. Even in classic EQ. I first heard of RMT when a friend of mine started playing the game in 99 and promptly bought a Ghoulbane for 100 dollars for his paladin. Shortly thereafter I heard of another friend who bought a Sharkbone Warhammer for over 150 dollars for his shaman.

RMT was a real thing. Sadly.
