Default Because 15 years of my life wasn't enough ;)

EQ had a ripple effect on my life that was pretty profound and far reaching. It heavily influenced my life even after I eased off on playing it for over a decade.

Started during high school back in '99. Was an avid UO player at the time, but a screenshot of a Dry Bones skeleton and that amaaaazing 3D won me over! Haha.

Spent most days playing from 3PM after school to 6AM, 2 hours before I had to be to class. Was a very sleep deprived kid, but I don't regret it. Did this for a few years.

Met a girl in Highkeep while waiting to get my PGT. Decided to live in the moment, picked up and relocated from the pacific northwest to Florida to be with her.

A decade later, we decided to move to Austin to break into the gaming industry - we both ended up working for SOE, which was one of our major reasons for moving there. During our time there we even got the chance to work on several of the later expansions. The team of veteran EQ devs was absolutely awesome to work with, especially as people fresh in the field.

So yea, up until about 2 years ago, EQ had a profound effect on the direction of my life. I don't regret damaging my health with all those late nights, or all the late nights at the office that it led me to. It was a hell of a journey, especally back in 99-04, and all the stints of progression servers.

And yet, here I am, back for more... because no game I've found can ever fill the spot that EQ made for itself in my life [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

My name is Uggybug in game. I went by Rokuzachi and Draxis on Povar and Druzzil respectively back in the day. Thank you so much for maintaining P99!
