Default Ancient Cyclops: Server rules or Player rules?

This might be a TL;DR post for some, but I have some questions regarding the AC camp.

I took a long break from game. Used to be AC popped after a fairly simple killing of PHs in SRO desert... Since getting back, that routine was altered and now the only reliable AC camp is the one in OOT.

The only time you can get this camp (unless the stars have magically aligned) is if you are logged in around 1am to 5am, which obviously are not the most convenient hours for most normal living people who sleep during these hours.

The reason this is the only time you can get this camp, is because there is almost always a very long list of people waiting. The list usually has 3-7 people on it.

The players on the list also tend to be on alts while waiting, or not even ingame at all.

My question is, technically how can someone be waiting for a camp, when they are either on alts, or not even in the game in any form?

By server rules, a "camp" is held by someone actively clearing it, and being physically there. The next in line would technically be a person who physically is there at the camp, waiting once the camp of the AC is completed right?

I ask this question because we had this happen one day.

AC pops, and another unlisted guy is waiting with the AC camper as it pops. He is not on the "list". As the ac dies, the camper gets their ring, and then the waiting guy says, "you done now?" The person says, "yes I got a ring I am done..." So, the guy says "ok, I am taking camp then, thanks."

The "guy" I mentioned above said he did not follow "player rules" he followed "server rules", and in some ways I tohught to myself, I can respect that. My only problem with him is since that day, he actually HAS been on lists with his alts too. So, I guess he just determined that day it was convenient to not follow player rules, showing he is just a hypocrite.

My question is this; Is this list a player made rule that can be circumvented by someone abiding by server rules? If someone camps the AC, he pops, and no one is left to camp the AC because the person there got the ring, if someone runs up not on the list, can they take the camp?

Also, a side question... If you get the AC ring, can you get corpsed, just to continue camping the AC? Seen people doing this too, and just want to know if this is perfectly allowable and "ok" by server rules too.

Thanks for any input on the matter, and sorry for the TL;DR post.

Don't even corpse them, just destroy them. Hold it forever.

So this guy is putting his alts on list? Lol. Name and shame please.

Also, yes. If there's no one at camp (like someone corpsing a ring), list is invalid and you can take it.

There's nothing wrong with doing that if no one else is waiting.

There was a post somewhere on this, but I am too lazy to dig it up :/ However, as I recall, server rules do not recognize lists beyond the first person on it. The camper elects who they wish to pass the camp to and must declare who the camp will pass to when asked. If they do not provide a name, then whoever asked gets it provided they get there before the camper departs. The camper may also decline to participate and simply leave it FFA when they have finished. Corpsing is also not permitted. You get your item, you move on. I would not petition this though. Just feel free to contest the camp without repurcussions if someone is corping the items.

If you can manage to get the next PH kill, then the camp is yours. I believe the camp holder can pass the camp to someone, but that person has to be there. So basically from when AC dies you have 6 minutes to login or the camp is forfeit. AMIRITE?

I'd rather those idiotic, poorly thought out Derubael list rules (that he was so proud of) die from anyone's memory.

If I listed all the people putting alts names on list, it'd be a neverending list of names.

I just find it frustrating being on a list where there literally is 3-10 people, half not online, half on alts, etc.

And, yes people have figured out that when the AC pops, for some reason it seems there's a good chance another AC will spawn right after again.

So, a person camping the AC will say, "I am staying 1 more spawn of PH after I get ring just so you know..." And, if the AC spawns again, they then get corpsed and grab the second ring. Had this happen to me, guy stayed one more spawn after he got ring, hoping for a back to back AC spawn.

One guy had 4 corpses sitting right at AC spawn spot, all with rings on them. Said he needed "12 rings for guildies".

This is how much of a bottleneck the AC spawn has become I guess.

Maybe altering the SRO spawn and making it a reliable camp again would help, I don't know.

Ok, this sounds pretty straight forward and how it should be.
