Run Options or look at your eqclient.ini and make sure the client is running at a supported resolution...

ok, found OptionsEditor executable.

can't get the reso options to sync up with my monitor.

for instance, my monitor can do 1280x1024 so I set the reso in options to 1280x1024, close it, re-open it to ensure the change took . . . and reso gets changed to 1280x960.

edit: dont think its reso setting . . my monitor supports 1024x768, i can get Options reso to change (and stay) 1024x768 but still getting the error.

I just had this problem on another computer. Have you tried changing the "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution" setting under the compatibility properties?

if, by that, you mean "change Reso setting to 640x480 via OptionsEditor" then yeah I just tried that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] but no it solved nothing [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Not the OptionsEditor in the EQ folder. The icon on the desktop itself. Try;
1:Right Click on the Icon
2:Click on Properties
3:Click on Compatibility
3:Check "Run in 640 x 480 screen resolution"
4:Apply the setting and try it.
On the other computer, I changed resolution in OptionsEditor and didn't work either. but forcing 640x480 made it work.

thanks for the help guys . . .I've gotten past the error message by changing the reso of my desktop to match whatever I WILL set the EQ options to (desktop first, eq options reso second).

Will try out your suggestion Not_F to see if I can get by without resizing my desktop every time I want to log on.

thanks again

If you change it so you can finally get into the game, I've found that it will then give you the correct resolutions in the "in game" options editor.

it's all good now.

Not_F's trick got me through the launcher into the game and was able to set my reso there w/out having to mess with my desktop reso.
