Default Shaman Solo Leveling

So we all know that Shamans are awesome soloers at 60 with all their goodies, but what about 1-50? Is there a trick to leveling them solo before you get things like jbb, epic, fungi, torpor, etc?

Oh well in that case I'd say just slow + disease DoT + melee. You won't get your whole "kit" till 34 (regen/canni/haste/pet). You can try root rotting earlier then 24 but the spells cost a lot of mana and don't really do a lot of damage.

*just my thoughts, I don't have a max level sham and 99% of the time talk out my arse*

Up until you get your pet, root rotting is probably the way to go. Pull with disease dot, root, cast nukes / poison dots / wait for it to die. Maybe team up with a druid for double dots, or a necro for fear kiting.

Once you get your pet you can do a similar thing but also slow the mob and send your pet in. Your first couple slows don't do much for the amount of mana they cost, walking sleep is pretty much useless.

Now, if you have some twink money you can wade into the fight yourself much earlier. Fungi + Granite Face Grinder or some other melee weapon will make the early levels much more bearable as you'll be doing dot damage as well as melee.

set of banded, hp rings, poison wind censer, and maybe a fbss/schw most would consider "some twink money" right??? not a fungi + GFG combo, or am I just poor and not dreaming big enough?

That sounds like a great start. You might have some longer downtime until you get the regen spell but that is a good investment for gear. Melee shaman power!

You could always skip the banded and (race dependant) try and loot a full set of Jarsath Scale gear that rots all the time in KC.

I tried this the first time I tried to run to kurn's tower. No one responded (which is fine, maybe no groups had a drop rotting) but then I had the thought "how the hell am I supposed to get to the drop even of someone lets me have it?" Any suggestions?

Invis yourself + get invis vs undead from cleric/enchanter/nec/SK at ent. Some Drolvargs see invis but you might start off non kos if you haven't killed any yet.
