Default So fun!

Having ever so much fun being back in old school Everquest again. What a wonderful community! How did it take me so long to find this?[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

The oddest things bring me to my knees. lol First thing I did was run out like a fool before I even conquered the interface. Killed by a black wolf because I forgot how to run.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Today's ordeal is looking for the Freeport wizard guildmaster Opal Darkbriar. I found the Freeport Wizard Mage Enchanter Guild but have looked for the elusive Opal for hours. (Yeah I know human isn't the top pick for Wizards lol). Maybe I should just reroll a DE or HE....

At least I made level 4 with my High Elf mag today so slowly getting the hang of how to play the game again.

Didn't mean to ramble on so long. Just wanted to introduce myself to the community. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Humans can make fine wizards. In fact, as you learn about Solusek Ro and the history of Norrathian magic users, you'll find that several of Solusek's most exhalted disciples were human wizards.

LOL Gnome do make excellent wizards. I tried it once and the perspective from being so short drove me bonkers. Just couldn't get used to it.[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I did finally find the elusive Opal. So now on to new adventures.

Humans are great wizards, even from a min-max perspective. Int gear is plentiful and relatively cheap and you shouldn't have too many problems reaching the soft cap of 200. Your balanced stats will help mildly with other issues, like carrying stuff. Vision problems are more or less nullified by vision spells that you get later on.

Int casters are probably the least important race choice in general, though. Because of the aforementioned, your race choice barely matters. Play what you like =)

Thanks for the encouraging words guys! After reading replies I think I will just keep the human Wizard. =)

I have a couple questions. Do the boats work? I have had the joy of the boat zoning ahead of me and leaving me bobbing around in Ocean of Tears (I shed some tears too...). Never want to do that again. Next question. Where are the soul binders? Are there only player soul binds?

The thing that makes Project 1999 so awesome is there are people playing! Greater Faydark and Freeport are actually busy. A beautiful thing to see. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Yup, the boats work! Not the classic boats because the devs couldn't get them to work. But they work.

There are no soul binders. It's classic. You can usually get one in the more occupied cities if you stick around long enough asking for one, though.
