Default Open Halls of Testing raids

Hi there!

We are probing this subject to see if there is any interest in a reoccurring raid of HoT during mid day hours in Europe (start around 12.00 CET ).

Looking for ppl already experienced in HoT raiding and that are self-moving. Lvls no lower then 56.

Pls send me a PM with Name, class , lvl, and time available.

Will bump this post in a few days and then at the end of the week check PMs.

56 seems like a really specific cut off.

Why not 55?
Why not 57?
Is your toon 56?

Please advise.

You take a lot of damage from AEs as a melee in HoT if you aren't close in level to the wurms (they are 62-64). Even with good fire/cold resists. Level is the bigger determining factor.

Casters/priests are usually hidden though so not as big a deal.

56 is even to low, should be 58. HoT mobs AoE will kill your entire raid on the first pull if its full of 56's.

Also - You will either need to make sure people have the proper faction or have a CoTH mage set up at the exit and CoTH everyone in (a pain in the ass process). Setting up a HoT open raid sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to be honest.

I think that <Asgard> is generally considered a competent/semi-competent group of players and we had a boat load of growing pains when Velious first dropped in regards to HoT.

it's not as simple as getting 50 people and just zerging the entire wing down. Unfortunately you will probably have problems in every phase of trying to pull this off (setting up camp, pulling, handling AoE, tanking, push from melee).

I would set a less ambitious goal. Go clear PoG for loots IMO

I am just trying to be honest and save you from lots of frustration - hope i didn't offend you

Also, if you are not 60 there's no reason to worry about HoT armor. HoT armor is needed for mobs that you need to be 60 to kill. Go farm Seb, KC, Velks, HS, etc. No HoT armor needed for those places.

HoT would have to be done so slowly for a small PUG raid that the payoff I imagine would be minuscule for time invested.

It's really no joke in HoT. Your melee have to wear FR/CR gear and ideally are 4k+ hp buffed to go at even a moderate speed. Otherwise you'll need a ridiculous amount of sham/dru heals to keep your DPS up.

Not to mention that PUG dps isn't exactly helping your cleric mana situation. It's really just a catalystic type of environment. If the wheels are greased, it's smooth and easy. But any interruptions and the trains off the tracks.
