![]() From the vanilla "Official Player's Guide" - not sure if this was part of McQuaid's original vision but it sure would've been nice.
http://imgur.com/a/9rOOS Dynamic Quests The second type of quests are Dynamic Quests. Dynamic Quests are immediate, run by either player characters (especially the Guilds), or by the GM within the Game. Dynamic Quests are sometimes announced ahead of time, but their nature is such that players may find themselves embroiled in one before they even realize what's happening. [..Goes on to basically describe GM events but also...] Player Guilds may also choose to set their own quests. These are entirely up to the Guilds to run. They may involve players killing certain types of monsters, retrieving lost items or participating in any number of trials. Players participating in Guild-run quests will usually be rewarded with money or magical items. Most Guilds will announce their quests ahead of time in order to get maximum exposure. I don't remember this ever being implemented but some kind of player-made content would be fun. Also side note, does anyone remember if Guild Wars ever worked? I don't remember ever seeing any having played on and off from June '99 to PoP but for people to have made posts on official forums saying it was broken means it must have worked at some point? I found some very old (2010) threads on these forums where Rogean was very proactive with ideas on how to implement the system well but I couldn't find what happened with that. Duelling and Guild Wars There are also two ways to fighter other players without having to result to turning on your PK flag or playing on the PvP server: duels and Guild Wars. [......] DECLARE WAR! Guild Wars can be incredibly fun and a definite break from scouring the hills and vales of Norrath looking for smaller game. Nothing beats the thrill of hunting other players. /GUILDWAR <NAME> <DURATION>: Initiates a guild war against the guild of the Guild Leader which appears in the <name> field. <Duration> sets the duration in real days of the guild war. This defaults to one real day if left blank. The opposing Guild Leader must send the same command with the <name> of the other Guild Leader to fully initiate the conflict. /GUILDPEACE <NAME>: Ends a guild war before the duration has expired. <name> is the name of the opposing Guild Leader. Both sides must send this command to end the war prematurely.

![]() Yeah, you could have guild wars.
The only guild I'd war with would have been Nomsanto Industries...P99 IRON CHEF!!

![]() Holy shit there is actually Guild Wars? sort of like UO style?
Why isn't this on Blue? Frigin +1 Imagine two guilds fighting each other's members who are hanging out in EC. Shit is classic, ADD IT Plus this would most likely increase the population on Red. Edit: +100000 add it! !_! (the guild vs guild)

![]() People used to run scavenger hunts on Povar all the time.
Additionally, yes, guildwar did work at one point but the functionality was broken and later removed from the client's commands handlers (unsure when this actually happened, but EQMac did not have guild wars.)
