Question Nub Question! LvL 30 in Kunark

I just made it to level 30 on my Ikky Monk, Eraclaw. Was having a good time in Najena and was planning on leveling in Solesk's Eye further, but the place has been pretty busy with some power leveling this past week. So I decided to make a transition to Kunark to level outside of dungeons.

I tried searching for some guides on Kunark leveling, but couldn't find anything specific to my current level. I decided to just go exploring. Most of the mobs I saw in Dreadlands were all red and yellow cons, in Firiona Vie they were blue and yellow, in Lake of Ill Omen they were green, in Frontier Mountains they were yellow and blue (but with giants in the mix!), and in The Overthere they were red and yellow.

Seemed like FV and FM were the best spots, but with FV seemingly better because of less giants. Before I get bound back in my homeland I thought I'd check with the brain trust on the P99 forums for advice. My goal is to stay in Kunark since it's relatively new content for me to dive into. the PLs can be real sometimes. leveling in kurn I've had some folks come in and pull the entire zone keeping 20+ lowbies from leveling.

the good news is there is a ton of places. have you tried finding a group in OT?

I think at 30 I was soloing the brutes in WW. Static spawns and there is a ZL right there in case FD fails and you're in trouble.

Yea, but I honestly dgaf. Just a game, and it's giving me an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone to find a new leveling spot.

This thread isn't an effort to start bashing people who PL inside of dungeons. Really trying to get some solid advice on opportunities to grind in Kunark zones.

I was told that by someone else last night. Problem is when I look at the wiki for WW and see what "brutes" are there all I found were Pygmy Skulking Brutes and Skulking Bruts. Both aren't even level 20, so it doesn't seem worth the trip to check it out.

Meant to respond to this as well. When I made it to OT, everyone else in the zone was lvl 35+, and when I asked to join with people I was told I was to low, which makes sense to me since all the mobs I was considering were red/yellow. Mainly red.

Check out the brutes by the zone to Dalnir. They're a little higher level than the others.

Different parts of OT have different level creatures with the same names. At 30 I think you can try for the sabertooth tigresses and some of the Kunark rhinos (not kunark rhinos - there's a difference!) near the FM zoneline and anything running around on the eastern side of the zone, but there will be a lot of red and yellow cockatrices and sabertooth tigers around.

Level 30 is a good time to start grouping at the castle entrance in Mist Moore. Can go 30-38 there pretty easily and if you can manage to get to the CY, there is a really nice +HP cape that drops that every monk loves (Hooded Black Cape).

This is probably not helpful, but do who all 30 35, and see where the healers/tanks are, then head there =P

I've done MM before, and you're right about how rewarding it can be. Last I was in there on P99 (approximately 2 years ago) the Hooded Black Cloak was always camped by a 50+ guy preventing any group from getting the chance at it dropping. I did see some Diamondine Earrings drop though. Not all that bad.

I was wanting to really branch out though and give Kunark the ole college try, but thanks for chiming in on this thread. I'll keep that in mind if this venture doesn't workout.

I'm in a similar position. However, I didn't move over to Kunark until mid-30s. I think at 30 you can try to find a group at Giant Fort in Frontier Mountains. Around mid-30s a small group can do really well in Overthere, or start soloing at the Giant Fort. My next step is wondering where to go once I get to 40, as I'm not sure how good OT will be at that point.
